Like any worthwhile endeavour you undertake with the goal of creating income and abundance, there is going to be an investment. The investment will consist of time and money. To actually make money online in a business you are going to have to make a financial investment. It's as simple as that. If you opened any business, a pizza parlour, barber shop, bike shop or any number of other businesses's it would require you to invest money. Doing business online is no different.
One of the things you have probably heard a lot about is building a list, an email list to be more accurate. A lot of experts say to build your list, you will need a very large list and to always be working on building your list. If you are new to the online business arena you may consider buying a list which will cost a lot of money. This practice has been way over used and many lists you purchase aren't worth much. That's not to say there are no good lists out there, just be cautious buying lists. This could cost you a lot of hard earned money and stress. You will hear a lot about opt-in lists, which is where a person signed up for a newsletter or to an ezine, this is the best type of list to have since they are targeted to your information or offer. What the experts may fail to tell you is that to have people sign up to your list, you must have a constant stream of traffic or it's very difficult to get people to voluntarily sign up. This is not impossible, just more difficult than most will lead you to believe and a fact you should be aware of.
Traffic doesn't just magically appear when you have a website. Most people do not realize this. They appear to have the Field of Dreams mentality, build it and they will come . This is not the case, you must have the mentality when starting that you have to... Go Get traffic. You must go out and find the traffic and guide (drive) it to your website.
Being an affiliate of a big name like Google, Yahoo, My Space, Amazon or one of many big companies does not automatically drive traffic to your site or generate a land-slide of sales to make you wealthy. Without traffic it makes no difference who you are affiliated with. Being affiliated with Great companies is good and I would recommend it. But, without traffic it's meaningless.
As you move forward in your endeavours, keep these points in mind. Success is out there and it's yours for the taking. Do your research and align yourself with a good mentor and coach. Find someone who can teach and guide you, and will either answer your questions or guide you to the answers.
